5 days before Rochester MN Moms Blog launched last October, I traveled to Dallas, TX to attend the City Moms Blog Sister Site Conference with our 50+ site owners and team members from around the country. I was thrilled to be traveling to Dallas as I had never experienced the city before and was even more excited when I found out we would be staying at the luxurious Omni Hotel Dallas. From the moment I started packing my bags, I began to dream about what this incredible weekend had in store. Little did I know that from the moment I walked through the doors, I would encounter some of the best customer service I have ever experienced.
When I walked into my room, it was hard not to notice the beautiful Dallas skyline. My favorite was the Pegasus reflected in the building across the street! As I unpacked it noticed how nicely equipped each room was: from the TV in the bathroom mirror to the soaking tub to the fluffy bath robe and even the softest sheets ever, I knew that I was in for a treat of a weekend.
One of our first activities was a cocktail hour on the outdoor patio of the Omni. Here we were treated to many lovely crudités and beautiful craft drinks. Being nearly 7 months pregnant, I was immediately asked if I would enjoy a “mocktail.” Why, yes I would thank you very much! I don’t think my cup every ran dry. I was looked after quite well! We had the pleasure of hearing from Ed, a Senior Operations Director with Omni Hotels. It was really intriguing to hear about the passion and dedication that goes into all of the small details that add up to one incredible experience at the Omni.
After our first day of meetings and sessions we had some time for short afternoon siesta. As we returned to our rooms, each of us was greeted with a delightful treat. House made coconut macarons and slightly spicy, crunchy granola was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. The presentation of this special treat alone was lovely. I’m not embarrassed to say that I ate every last morsel on that plate (save the fun cupcake bath bomb that was at first mistaken as really mini cupcake!) The Omni has some incredibly renowned chefs and with nine different dining experiences within the hotel…let’s just say, I never went hungry.
Despite the incredible time I had while I was at the Omni, my favorite part about my trip happened after i returned home. This small act won a loyal customer for life! Here is a quote from the Rochester MN Moms Blog Instagram:
“I checked out of the Omni Hotel-Downtown Dallas Sunday morning as the #sistersiteconf15 concluded. In my haste, I forgot to pack a very special little pink journal. Every day since my daughter’s birth (she is 16 months old) I have written a one sentence memory about her. Needless to say, I was quite devastated when I discovered my mistake when I returned home to Rochester, MN.
I called the desk at 11:30 at night and was immediately transferred to the Loss Prevention Team. Due to the late hour, I was sure I would receive a voice recording. Imagine my surprise when Joshua answered the phone. He quickly located my journal and I burst into happy and relieved tears. Joshua was truly happy for me and celebrated with me, all the while calling me “Miss Becky.” He promised to put the journal in the mail this morning (shipping on the Omni. Could hardly believe it!) and gave me a tracking number on the spot.
The Omni Dallas went above and beyond my expectations last night and you have gained a loyal customer. Thank you from deep within this mom’s heart!!”
Suffice it to say, I wholeheartedly recommend the Omni Dallas Hotel. It is perfect for business accommodations or simply a weekend away with your family or friends. Kids are well looked after: we learned that all kids receive a bag full of health and nutrition games and healthy snacks upon check-in. In know we are entering into Minnesota’s golden season, but perhaps it might be time to think ahead to the winter when you will be desperate for a brief respite from the cold!
