We heard a saying recently: “My favorite color is flowers.”

This is hand-on-heart the perfect summation of our feelings towards flowers, florals, blooming plants, and foliage. They simply bring us joy. There is nothing like a fresh bouquet of flowers to leave us feeling like all is right in the world (even for a moment).

We first heard of Berry and Bloom Farm in the winter of 2019. They had just launched an Instagram account to take followers behind the scenes as they grew their flower farm. As our flower senses are very keen and attuned to anything floral, we picked up on this right away and have had a great time following along over the years.

Berry and Bloom Farm is unique: it is Southeast Minnesota’s only blueberry and u-pick flower farm! Blueberries need to be tended to carefully and their conditions need to be just right. The farmers have carefully selected six varieties that give guests the longest possible picking season and the best fruit, with berries expected to bear from early July through mid-August. Make sure to check out their website for helpful tips on blueberry picking!

There’s more to wander through than blueberries and bouquets. Four glorious acres of giant sunflowers are on their way this year, with a mowed path winding through so you can get lost in the beauty of it all. The wildflower meadow is back too, planted as a breathtaking backdrop for photo sessions. You won’t want to miss either, so take your time and enjoy. (Just remember, professional photography is available by appointment only, and those slots fill up fast.)

The farm is open now for the 2026 u-pick flower season, with the flower fields running as self-serve. U-Pick bouquets are $28 with a container included, minis are $10, and DIY buckets are $65. U-pick blueberries ar $6/lb. The best way to stay up to date is by subscribing to their newsletter (scroll to the bottom of their website) for opening dates, times, announcements, and more. For blueberry picking availability, keep an eye on their Facebook page, since that’s where they post updates as the berries ripen.

Here are a few important things to note when planning your visit to Berry and Bloom Farm:

  • Blueberries are not self-serve like the flowers, and picking availability is announced on Facebook. (Blueberries are always dependent upon ripening and availability.)
  • Your first stop will be the self-serve flower shed, where you’ll check in and receive instructions on how to pick your flowers. The blueberry shed is further down the driveway, closer to the house.
  • Bring a container to take your bouquets home with you. You don’t want them wilting in your car on the way home.
  • Plan for about an hour and a half for an average visit, not including berry season.
  • There is a handicap-accessible port-a-potty available for restroom needs. Indoor restrooms are not available.
  • Professional photography is by appointment only. Visit their Photo Session tab for all professional photography questions.
  • Berry and Bloom Farm accepts cash, check, and Venmo.
  • To be mindful of all of their guests, no pets are allowed except service dogs.
  • Please park parallel to the driveway on the grass between the trees and gravel, so cars can drive through.
