Rochester Mom is my full-time career. As such, I’m a full-time work from home mom (WFHM). My work hours can look a bit non-traditional, but for many days of the week, I work when my kids are in school and from time-to-time, even when they are at home with me.
Routines are key to us keeping on track and keeping us on time. I have found that my kids also love the sense of responsibility they get from taking care of tasks for themselves.
Routine and activity charts have been helpful to us as we transition from school-year rhythms, to summer routines, extended break rhythms and more.
Below I have provided printable chore charts that you can use for your family! If these charts don’t work for your family, I have provided a blank chart for you to customize for your family’s needs.
We print out and laminate these charts and place them near our kitchen table. Our kids use dry erase markers to check off their tasks each morning and night. I’ll be using the new daily schedule chart now too as the kids are out of school for an extended period of time due to COVID-19.
My kids know that they need to complete their tasks in order before they can move on with the rest of their day. While they are out of school, we will set new routines early so we can fall into a new routine. Keeping a normal pace brings comfort, predictability, and normalcy to an otherwise bizarre time in our lives.
