LIVE MUSIC – Mangum Opus: SEMYO Winter Concert | John Marschall High School

Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestras (SEMYO) invites you to Magnum Opus: SEMYO Winter Concert on Sunday, February 22, 2 PM in the John Marshall High School auditorium. Join us for an afternoon of outstanding music, featuring performances from all five SEMYO orchestras and celebrating the continued progress of our students.
Magnum Opus will showcase a diverse selection of repertoire, featuring several iconic orchestral masterpieces including “Mars” from The Planets by Gustav Holst, The Moldau by Bedrich Smetana, and arrangements of Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Beethoven’s 7 th Symphony, and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings. This concert will also introduce SEMYO’s newest ensemble, Chamber Winds, who will join Chamber Strings to form a full orchestra. For the grand finale, Philharmonic and Concert Orchestras will combine forces for a powerful rendition of Holst’s Mars, Bringer of War that will feature over 130 musicians on stage together.
Admission to the concert is $10 for adults and free for youth aged 18 and under. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time online or at the door. All tickets are will-call and general admission.
