Our Children are Sacred – Accountability and Justice Townhall | Rochester Civic Theatre

May 7 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free Registration and RSVP: https://forms.gle/RPvBD4pGJQCA4EMo8
The Rochester Branch of the NAACP in collaboration with Barbershop Talk and Rochester Civic Theatre is hosting a community townhall on the recent incident where a white woman’s intentional racist, threatening, hateful and verbal attack against a defenseless Black child on the autism spectrum was on display. this incident is not isolated.
Over the past year, we’ve seen a disturbing increase in racially motivated acts across Rochester—from racist slurs on the public bridge near Century High School, to a noose and effigy displayed to intimidate a Black family, to the defacement of a local representative’s home with swastikas and racial slurs, to acts of Islamophobia and antisemitism.
What happened at the park is yet another painful reminder that hate continues to exist in our community. Our children are sacred—and our community demands accountability and justice now.
