Free and open to all ages

Join us for a day of creativity, connection, and calm at Free Family Day: Art & Well-Being. This special event invites families and visitors of all ages to explore the galleries, make art together, and experience gentle movement and sound-based wellness activities designed to nurture both body and mind.

Throughout the day, enjoy hands-on artmaking in our classrooms, take part in guided tours and storytime in the galleries, and unwind with immersive sound healing sessions. Whether you’re looking to move, create, relax, or simply spend meaningful time together, there’s something for everyone.

Event Schedule

  • 11:00 am – 4:00 pm: Drop-in art activity in the classrooms
  • 11:30 am – 12:00 pm: Sound Healing Session with Maria Voorhees-Reincke, Intuitive Energy and Sound Healer
  • 12:00 – 12:45 pm: Movement Activity with Suzanne Costello, Artistic Co-Director at Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater
  • 1:00 pm: Guided Tour of Moving Beyond Bars with exhibition co-creator Suzanne Costello
  • 1:30 – 2:00 pm: Sound Healing Session with Maria Voorhees-Reincke, Intuitive Energy and Sound Healer
  • 2:00 pm: Drop-In Storytime Tour
  • 2:30 – 3:00 pm: Sound Healing Session with Maria Voorhees-Reincke, Intuitive Energy and Sound Healer

About the Artists

Suzanne Costello is a dance/theater director, choreographer, performer, and educator with a 40-year career dedicated to storytelling and amplifying underrepresented voices. As Artistic Co-Director of Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater (SPDT), based in Minneapolis, she has toured nationally and internationally, bringing her distinctive approach to movement and narrative across diverse communities.

Maria Voorhees-Reincke is an Intuitive Sound & Energy Healer with over a decade of experience. She is the founder of MVR Healing, is known for her sold-out sound baths, retreats, and sacred healing spaces. Blending vibrational sound therapy with intuitive energy work, Maria guides others into deep rest, emotional release, and nervous system regulation. Her work is rooted in her own healing journey, she is passionate about helping others reconnect with their peace, their power and the wisdom within.
