Welcome, summer! Â Swimming is such a great way to cool off on a warm summer day. There are many swimming options in and around Rochester and we hope this guide will help you compare the locations quickly. The pools on this list range from basic to waterpark-style, so click the website links to get more detailed information on each pool’s offerings. For all Rochester area beaches, see our guide here! There are also a few indoor pool options.
There are some pools that offer Free Swim Days, so if you have small children who only want to swim for an hour at a time, those are low-cost way to try out some of these pools. Open swim times were current as of the writing of this article, but be sure to check the pool’s website or call ahead to make sure they have not altered their hours.

Opening: Silver Lake Pool is scheduled to open on Monday, June 3, 2024, and will be open for the season until mid-August.

ALL-NEW Soldiers Field Aquatics Center
The All-New Soldiers Field Aquatics Center is officially set to open on June 10, 2024! Amenities at the new aquatic center include:
- Lazy River with zero depth entry
- 3 Waterslide Tower (2 body slides and 1 tube slide)
- 50-meter activity and lap pool with a climbing wall, drop slide, basketball hoop, and zip line
- Splash Pad with spray features, fountains, and multi-level play structure

Natural Water Swimming
Cascade Lake Park
Cascade Lake Beach Hours: will be open daily from May 25, 2024 through Labor Day (September 2, 2024). The beach is open during daylight hours, 6 AM – Dusk.
Cascade Lake Beach has no lifeguards on duty. The Park and Recreation Department encourages the “buddy” system when enjoying the beach. Parents are responsible for their children.
The following regulations will be enforced at Cascade Lake Beach this swimming season:
– No swimming outside designated swimming area.
– No alcoholic beverages allowed in the beach area.
– No smoking in beach area.
– No glass containers in beach area.
– No dogs in beach area.
– The park and beach are open during daylight hours.
Foster Arend Beach
Foster Arend Beach will be open daily from May 25, 2024 through Labor Day (September 2, 2024)
Open 7 Days a Week: 12 PM – 8 PM
Foster Arend Beach has no lifeguards on duty. The Park and Recreation Department encourages the “buddy” system when enjoying the beach. Parents are responsible for their children.
Waterparks of Minnesota offers an inflatable waterpark at Foster Arend Beach. There is an admission fee for this amenity. More info can be found on Waterparks of Minnesota’s Facebook Page.
Chester Woods Park
Beach Opens: Memorial Day – Labor Day
Park Entrance Fee (per car): FREE
Open Swim: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Sunday- Thursday. 10:00 am – 8:00 pm Friday and Saturday. No lifeguard on duty.
Hok-si-la Park (Lake City)
Park open for day use 8 a.m. till 10 p.m. No lifeguard on duty.
