Birria \ ˈbir-Ä“-ˌä \is a Mexican dish from the state of Jalisco. The dish is a meat stew or soup traditionally made from goat meat but occasionally made from beef, lamb, mutton, or chicken. The meat is marinated in an adobo made of vinegar, dried chiles, garlic, herbs, and spices before being cooked in a broth. You won’t want to miss out on this delicious delicacy! You may be familiar with their location, as it was formerly Prescott’s.

El Carambas
Located in a sleepy strip mall near Cub Foods, you won’t want to pass El Carambas up. Â The menu is expansive, and the service is quick and friendly. Â Order at the counter and grab a spot in the dining room, they will bring your food to you. You’ll know the regulars as Luis, the manager happily remembers nearly everyone’s names. We love the tacos al pastor and the watermelon fresca…and the Horchata!

El Gallo is a Mexican tienda (store) and restaurant. Â This grocery store offers grocery staples from Mexico and other places in Central and South America and lots of great specialty items that might be hard to find in bigger chain grocery stores. Â The restaurant located inside of the Tiendas serves the freshest, super authentic food. Â The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Â If you haven’t been, we recommend you check it out!

Taco Jed was voted BEST tacos in Rochester MN in 2020!  These fast, fresh tacos are served in a casual and upbeat atmosphere.  Some of our favorites include the vegetarian Flower Child taco made with cauliflower and the breakfast tacos.  Their queso is also delicioso with their freshly made house tortilla chips.
