Prairie Tour Wagon Ride | Chester Woods Park

Converting farm fields into a park with a lake and prairies full of native grasses and wildflowers takes many years of effort. Over the past 30 years, staff and volunteers at Chester Woods Park have seeded, pulled weeds, burned and repeated this process many times.
Join Joel Dunnette, a long-time park volunteer and Jim Foote, former Olmsted County Park Superintendent, as they describe the process of changing this former farmland into a park with beautiful woods and prairies. Participants will ride on the wagon to various areas then disembark to see the dam, walk the prairie and see the plants.
