When looking for a unique gift, or an original decor piece for your home, why not support our local artists and arts community? We have loads of talented artists and makers right here in Rochester. Help us get the word out!

Rochester Local has compiled a list of places in the area where you can find art and goods created by local artists and makers. Some of the included artists have websites, and some are more active on social media. Check them out and give them a follow!

Supporting local artists and makers is a fantastic way to support the community! Every dollar spent stays right here in our local economy and works to create a thriving arts scene in Rochester.


Threshold Arts

Threshold Arts has a storefront on Broadway Avenue where you can find a wide variety of work, all by local artists and makers. In addition, this non-profit hosts exhibitions, events, and artist programs. Stop down and check out everything they have on display or find items to purchase online.

SEMVA Art Gallery

SEMVA stands for Southeastern Minnesota Visual Artists. At their gallery, they have a variety of mediums of artwork for viewing and purchase. They are excited to have you stop in, but they encourage visitors to call before making plans to view the gallery.

Rochester’s Farmers Market 

Naturally Dyed Yarns from Berry Fun Yarns found at the Rochester Farmers Market

Since 1985 the Rochester Farmers Market has been providing the greater Rochester area with fresh and flavorful produce and more from local farmers and vendors. In addition to locally-grown fruits and vegetables, the Farmers Market hosts vendors selling sweets, bakery items, gifts, art, and freshly made ready-to-eat food to take home (or enjoy while you browse the market). Dwell Local in Zumbrota

Dwell Local is a beautiful space, selling locally-made home goods. Find Dwell Local right on Main Street in Zumbrota. They sell gifts and other handmade goods created by artists and makers in the SE Minnesota area. Before you go, check out this post to find other things to do while you’re in town.

Gathered Goods in Forager Brewery

Whether you’re stopping in for a bite to eat or something cold to drink, be sure to browse Gathered Goods right inside the doors of Forager Brewery. This little boutique market sells locally made jewelry, ceramics, home decor, and other original handmade gifts.

Clover & Rose

Find something totally unique at Clover & Rose! The shop sells locally-made art, products, and goods, and is also stocked with vintage finds like clothes and jewelry. It’s the perfect spot to stop, whether you’re looking for a gift or something for yourself.

Garden Party Books 

Garden Party Books is a wonderful place to find the writing of local authors and publishing companies, as well as other locally-made goods. As many of the books at the store are donated by locals, the stock reflects what the community is reading! Keep an eye on their social media pages for updates on their local author section and more local goods – coming soon!

People’s Food Co-op

Find fresh, locally-grown produce and other products made in the SE Minnesota area at People’s Food Co-op. But PFC is so much more than food. The Co-op stocks an array of locally-made gifts, soaps, and lotions, seeds to start your garden, and home goods. Hy-Vee

Did you know that the Rochester Hy-Vee locations stock local goods too? Some of the many local items found at Hy-Vee are frozen pizza from Pasquale’s, honey from The Bee Shed, and popcorn from Carrol’s Corn.

Rochester Art Center Gallery Shop

This shop, located directly inside the Rochester Art Center’s doors showcases local artwork and goods available for purchase. There is so much to find here from coasters, notebooks, and clothing, to stickers and do-it-yourself art kits. It’s a perfect place to find a gift or something for yourself.
