June 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The History Center welcomes the return of researcher, author, & social justice advocate Karen Sieber! Many may know that William Crossley is buried in Rochester, but do they know the entire story? Crossley, along with his mother, Nance Legins-Costley, were the first former enslaved people to be freed by Abraham Lincoln. But just how did he end up in Rochester & what role did he play in the first Juneteenth? Join us at the History Center on Tuesday, June 17th at 7:00 pm to learn more about William Crossley & his mother Nance Legins-Costley.

This special event is free for members of the History Center of Olmsted County and just $5 for each non-member.

Tickets are available in person and via Zoom. Please register in advance.
