Ten Things I Don’t Need Right Now

*Originally published November 2017*

The lack of sunlight may be making me more irritable.  Or maybe it’s these ten things.  Maybe it’s just me and my mood, but here are some things I could do without!

  1. Ten million options for every.single.thing.  The kids need vitamins?  Oh, let me take 20 minutes to sift through the multitude of options at Target while the youngest throws everything out of the cart.
  2. A blog post on how to be more present and less glued to my phone.  I’m confused.  I’m reading on my phone about not being on my phone?  I can’t win.
  3. Pineapple motifs.  You’ve worn out your welcome.
  4. A cleaning lady.  Because I have to clean for her to clean.  Something’s not adding up.
  5. A planner with cute stickers that say things like, “checked that off!!!’ and “WAY TO GO!”  I have to actually accomplish things in order to use them.
  6. Kombucha, aloe water, acai, chia seeds and anything else that essentially drains my bank account and leaves me feeling zero percent more rested and healthy.
  7. Lash boost, lash extensions and fuzzy fake lash wands.  Because for whom.  My husband?  He won’t notice.  For me?  I won’t notice either.
  8. Duvets and duvet covers.  FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WILL YOU EVER LAY RIGHT.
  9. Low voltage blow dryers.  Come on.  Minutes are like hours and hours are like days.
  10. Target North and Target South with their different layouts.  Not cute, Target.  Not cute.

Whew!  I’m so glad to get that off my chest!  Now, for the things I do need?

  1. Fall.  I really do love you.  Despite your evil time change.
  2. Navy blue everything.  But no pineapples, please.
  3. The Farmer’s Market to stay year round and forever.  I’m obsessed.
  4. Trader Joe’s flowers.  You had me at $3.99.
  5. And my children.  To stay young and amazing.  Always and forever……just without the whining, tattling, begging, Jedi mind tricks, dirt, excuses, immaturity, fast-growing fingernails, crying, teasing, leg-clinging and flood appropriate pants.
