There’s no way to miss Minnesota’s largest candy store while cruising southbound on 169 near the city of Jordan. You absolutely cannot miss the bright yellow welcome signs or the building the same color.  I’m positive it’s visible from space.

Minnesota's Largest Candy StoreI had never heard of Minnesota’s Largest Candy, nor of a candy store anywhere of this size until June of this year. My wife gave me the address and I took our kids there after a visit to the Minnesota Zoo. When we crossed the threshold into the candy store and I was instantly transported to a world of pure imagination and nostalgia.

Before even entering the store, there were indications of what we were walking into. A life-size Spiderman mounted to the outside of the building watched our approach. A 3D perspective painting on the ground outside gives you an opportunity to insert yourself into the art and hang out with Bowser, Luigi, and many more characters from Super Mario Brothers. Next to that, you are introduced to the world’s largest puzzle (put together by a local Minnesota resident that took over 4,000 hours and has over 40,000 pieces) on display.

Minnesota's Largest Candy StoreWhen you reach the entrance, make sure to have anyone that is under 42 inches enter through the “Children’s Door.” Immediately upon entering, you are welcomed with an experience of wonderment and child-like joy. Every room of the building has 360 degrees of decorations above you with painted ceilings, suspended boats, divers, spaceships, life-size superheroes, and characters from your favorite movies and shows.

Minnesota's Largest Candy StoreOnce your gaze drifts downwards you are greeted to rows upon rows of candy and delights to explore. Abba-Zabba candy bars? You bet. Chocolate from every corner of the globe? Of course. In the mood for British treats with proper tea? Just down the aisle to your left. Gummies in all shapes, sizes and flavors are packaged and ready for the ride home.

Not only will you find worldwide candy of every shape, size, color, and flavor, they also have an in-house bakery delivering fresh pies, apple crisp, and so much more. Take it home fresh or frozen! As you slowly push your cart towards the checkout you are flanked on both sides with the largest variety of pop (or soda if that’s your jam) in the state (maybe the world).

Minnesota's Largest Candy StoreIt’s a challenge to concisely write all that awaits you at Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store in one post. While we were there for 2 hours, we still missed so much!  Another trip is being planned for “research purposes.”

One important note about visiting: Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store only accepts cash and check. If you happen to arrive without either, there are a couple of ATMs on location. It was surprisingly only a $2.75 charge to use the ATM. I would recommend withdrawing at least $100. On our trip, I attempted to be fairly conservative with the things ending up in our cart, and we spent nearly $90. Worth. Every. Penny. (Sorry, Becks)
