The Bluff Country Hiking Club is collaborating with local fiber and crochet artist Lydia Hansen for a totally unique art + trail exhibition– the Lost Creek Fungi Hunt!
A total of 15 pieces of crochet art handmade by Hansen–each representing mushrooms and fungi native to SE MN– will be installed on dead wood along the Lost Creek Hiking Trail. As you hike this unique trail, see how many of her creations you can spot, and how many you recognize as fungi present in our part of the state.
The unveiling of this unique collaboration will occur on June 8 with the Lost Creek Fungi Hunt Reception and Group Hike. Join the reception at 10:00am at the Jordan Town Hall. An artist talk with Lydia Hansen and Q&A will happen at 10:30, followed by a presentation and information about the trail from the Bluff Country Hiking Club. At 11:30, hikers can gather at the Nine Bark Trailhead for a group hike with the artist on a 4 mile loop to see some of the art in place.
This event is free, and open to all ages. Parking is available along the side of the road. Consider bringing your own water and trail snacks if you plan to hike with the group.
