5:30 – 6:00 PM | MISSISSIPPI HOT CLUB
Mississippi Hot Club showcases the distinct musical style pioneered by maestro guitarist Django Reinhardt in Paris, France, during the 1930s and 40s. This hot club is an all-string jazz ensemble with la pompe rhythm guitar, upright bass, and the likely improvisation of a solo guitar and violin. Davina & the Vagabonds is a Twin Cities-based jazz-blues band led by powerhouse vocalist and pianist Davina Sowers, known for blending early-20th-century blues and jazz with a bold, modern edge. ABOUT FORWARD PARK CONCERTS
These free, Wednesday evening concerts highlight local bands and regional headliners. Concerts are held in six different walkable, pet-friendly, and bike trail-connected parks- one in each city ward. The music starts at 5:30 PM and wraps up at 7:45 PM. Every FORWARD concert includes the Rochester Public Library’s Bookmobile, the Parks & Recreation Mobile Rec Trailer, and the Art Stop, a free creative activity led by local artists. Everyone is welcome! No registration is required.
