Welcome, summer!  Swimming is such a great way to cool off on a warm summer day. There are many swimming options in and around Rochester and we hope this guide will help you compare the locations quickly. The pools on this list range from basic to waterpark-style, so click the website links to get more detailed information on each pool’s offerings. For all Rochester area beaches, see our guide here! There are also a few indoor pool options.

Summer starts at the pool! Rochester Parks & Recreation offers outdoor water fun for every age — from thrilling waterslides and splash features at Soldiers Field Aquatic Center to relaxing beaches, neighborhood splash pads and family-friendly pool experiences across the city.

Cool off at Cascade Lake and Foster Arend beaches, make a splash at Lincolnshire, McQuillan and Silver Lake splash pads, or spend the day swimming and relaxing at Silver Lake Pool. Whether you’re chasing adventure, entertaining the kids or just looking for the perfect sunny-day activity, Rochester’s aquatic facilities are ready for summer fun.

The Soldiers Field Aquatics Center opens June 5, 2026! This incredible facility has been a community favorite since it opened in 2024, and it’s easy to see why. Here’s what’s waiting for you:

  • Lazy river with zero-depth entry
  • Three-story waterslide tower with two body slides and one tube slide
  • 50-meter lap and activity pool with a climbing wall, drop slide, basketball hoop, and zip line
  • Splash pad with spray features, fountains, and a multi-level play structure

Opening: June 5, 2026

Hours: Daily, Noon – 8 PM

  • Adult (18+): $11
  • Child (3-17): $9

  • Evenings (6 p.m. – Close): $8 adult / $6 child
  • Splash Pad Only (Ages 2-6): $5 per child
  • Splash Pad Supervising/Non-Swimming Adult: $2

  • Toddler Time (Splash Pad – 10 -11:30 AM): $5 per child
    • Supervising adult is $2; Children 2 & Under: $2

Silver Lake Pool

Silver Lake Pool is brand new for summer 2026! This outdoor pool just got a complete makeover, and it’s packed with features your family will love:

  • 25-yard lap and activity pool with a zero-entry ramp
  • Climbing wall, aqua zip line, and basketball hoop
  • All-new pool house
  • On-site splash pad, with FREE admission (The pool has an entrance fee)

Opening: June 8, 2026

Hours: M-W-F, Saturday and Sunday – Noon to 8 PM, Tuesday and Thursday, Noon – 5 PM

Lincolnshire Splash Pad

Lincolnshire Splash Pad

Tucked into the Lincolnshire neighborhood in northwest Rochester, the Lincolnshire Splash Pad is a favorite warm-weather hangout for families. Located at 5276 Members Parkway NW, it’s free to use and open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Labor Day. It’s got 10 fun water features, a grassy lawn for lounging, shady spots for grown-ups, and nearby restrooms—basically everything you’d want for a low-key summer outing. It’s an easy, no-cost way to keep kids cool and active while adults relax nearby.

Opening: May 23, 2026

Admission: FREE

Location: 5276 Members Pkwy NW, Rochester

Hours: Daily, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Splash Pad Closing Date: Labor Day

No lifeguards on duty

This amenity is FREE to use for the public in Rochester and features 10 water features, shaded areas, a public restroom, and grassy areas.

 


 

McQuillan Splash Pad

Opening: Summer 2026

Admission: FREE

Location: 1655 Marion Rd SE, Rochester

Hours: Daily, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Splash Pad Closing Date: Labor Day

Silver Lake Splash Pad

Opening: June 8, 2026

Admission: FREE

Location: 840 7th St NE, Rochester

Hours: Daily, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Rochester Recreation Center

The warm-water pool is a 25-yard, four-lane leisure pool maintained at 88°F, with depths ranging from 3.6 to 4.6 ft. A ramp and railing provide easy access. It’s used for recreational swimming and warm-up/cool-down during competition.

The 50 Meter Pool is an Olympic-length Myrtha-designed competition pool meeting all AAU and FINA standards. It features 8 or 16 lanes, two movable bulkheads for flexible configurations, two 1-meter and two 3-meter diving boards, and seating for 1,294. Water temperature is maintained at 81–82°F, with depths ranging from 3.5 to 13.8 ft.

Open Lap Swim: 

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10:30 – 11:45 AM and 12:00 – 1:15 PM

Tuesday, Thursday: 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM and 12:30 – 1:15 PM

OPEN WATER SWIMMING

Cascade Lake Park

Cascade Lake Beach Hours: will be open daily from May 25, 2026 through Labor Day.  The beach is open 12 PM – 8 PM.

Cascade Lake Beach has no lifeguards on duty.  The Park and Recreation Department encourages the “buddy” system when enjoying the beach.  Parents are responsible for their children.

The following regulations will be enforced at Cascade Lake Beach this swimming season:

– No swimming outside designated swimming area.
– No alcoholic beverages allowed in the beach area.
– No smoking in beach area.
– No glass containers in beach area.
– No dogs in beach area.
– The park and beach are open during daylight hours.

 


Foster Arend Beach

Foster Arend Beach will be open daily from May 25, 2026 through Labor Day.

Open 7 Days a Week: 12 PM – 8 PM

Foster Arend Beach has no lifeguards on duty.  The Park and Recreation Department encourages the “buddy” system when enjoying the beach.  Parents are responsible for their children.

Waterparks of Minnesota offers an inflatable waterpark at Foster Arend Beach.  There is an admission fee for this amenity.  More info can be found on Waterparks of Minnesota’s Facebook Page.

 


 

Chester Woods Park

Beach Opens: Memorial Day – Labor Day

Open Swim: 10 AM – 6 PM, daily

 


 

Hok-si-la Park (Lake City)

Park open for day use 8 AM – 10 PM. No lifeguard on duty.

Zumbrota Shades of Sherwood Campground

Opens: TBD

Wristband admission: $15 – ages 2 & under are free (holiday and weekend wristband rates are higher). The wristband includes Waterpark, Tubing, Jumping Pillow, Pedal Carts, Space Ball, & Mini Golf.
