Rochester Community Connect: Safety Preparation & Response

The City of Rochester, in connection with first responders and emergency response teams, has launched a platform designed to help protect residents and their property in Rochester: Community Connect. This platform allows residents to register their household along with important information that would help first responders save valuable time in the event of an emergency. All information provided is bank-level secure and protected and used only to aid first responders when responding to an emergency.

What kind of information should be submitted?

Include what you feel comfortable with! Here are the options:

Property

  • Type (house, condo, townhome, apartment, etc.)
  • A designated meeting place for family members

People

  • Who lives in the home
  • Emergency contact numbers

Needs

  • Mobility/medical issues of people who live in the home

Pets

  • Any pets that live in the home

How will this information help?

Having this information quickly accessible to emergency responders can help the fire department/emergency personnel identify that everyone (including pets) is out of the home in the event of a fire. It can help the first responders be more prepared to deal with mobility or medical issues of those living in the home. Community Connect will also help save valuable minutes by telling emergency personnel who to contact in case of an emergency.

For more information, or to register your home, check out Community Connect.
