Best-Selling Author of Jarhead to Speak | RCTC

Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) invites the community to a special presentation by Anthony Swofford, best-selling author of Jarhead, on Wednesday, September 23, at 2 p.m. in the Hill Theater on the RCTC campus.

Swofford is the author of the critically acclaimed memoir Jarhead: A Marine’s Chronicle of the Gulf War and Other Battles, which became a national bestseller and was later adapted into the major motion picture Jarhead. Through his writing and public speaking, Swofford has explored themes of military service, leadership, identity, resilience, and the human impact of war.

Later in the day at 6:00 p.m., the public is invited to join us in the Compassion Corner of Goddard Library for a short Q&A, followed by a book signing. Books will not be available for purchase; the public should bring their own items to sign. There will be a book discussion on Monday, September 21 to complement this event.

Both events are free and open to the public.
