Auditions for Frankenstein | Rochester Civic Theatre

The Rochester Civic Theatre will be holding auditions for Frankenstein by Nick Dear, based on the novel by Mary Shelley. Directed by Lindsey Duoos Williams.

In Nick Dear’s striking stage adaptation of Mary Shelley’s timeless novel, the narrative is reframed through the eyes of the creature himself. From his first agonizing moments of consciousness, abandoned by his brilliant but reckless creator Victor Frankenstein, he embarks on a profoundly human journey of self-discovery through a cold and indifferent world. Visceral and gothic, Frankenstein wrestles with the responsibilities of those who create, the cruelty of rejection, and the dangerous consequences of playing god — asking with quiet urgency whether humanity is defined by the body we inhabit or the compassion we choose to extend.

Rehearsals begin September 21, typically Mon-Fri 6-9 pm.

Seeking multiple adult actors 18+ and two child actors to share the role of William Frankenstein. Actors of all ethnicities and genders are strongly encouraged to audition.
