Yin Yoga | Driftless Hydration


This style of practice utilizes poses that are close to the ground, usually seated or on the back, to allow the muscles to relax. In yin, the goal is not to stretch the muscles, but to sink deeper into the connective tissues and ligaments of the joints. These poses are held for several minutes to allow the body to really settle into the posture. Often, these postures focus on the compression of an area to purge the space of stagnant energy, tension, or stiffness.
