Local Advisory Council (LAC) Informational Meeting | Family Services Rochester

November 9 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Do you live with a mental illness or have a family member who does? Share your experience and knowledge – join the Olmsted County Local Advisory Council!

Local Mental Health Advisory Councils (LACs) offer individuals, parents and mental health service providers the opportunity to make a real difference in how mental health care is provided in the community. LACs advise counties, county boards and community leaders on a range of mental health-related topics, offering local and state policy makers the wisdom of those who experience mental health concerns first-hand. The majority of LAC members are individuals with lived experience with mental illness and their family members.

You’re invited to an informational meeting on Thursday, November 9 from 12:30-2 pm at Family Service Rochester (4600 18th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901) to learn more about how to get involved with the Olmsted County Adult Mental Health Local Advisory Council, which is restarting after a pandemic-related hiatus. Participating in a LAC is a way to use your experience and knowledge to create a better mental health care system; please join us!
